PPG Industries is launching new branding for automotive refinish brand Nexa Autocolor coatings to give a fresh look to its full range of products. The innovative Aquabase Plus waterborne line will be the first with updated product packaging. Nexa Autocolor brand pioneered low-volatile organic compound (VOC) solutions for the automotive refinish industry,the company said, introducing the original Aquabase product more than 20 years ago. Based on its unique heritage, the Aquabase Plus line now includes a growing range of integrated tinters, undercoats, clearcoats and ancillaries that work seamlessly together to provide a complete start-to-finish waterborne repair solution. The new global visual adopts a refreshed blue “plasma” theme to signify the state-of-the-art technology, performance and color-matching excellence of the Nexa Autocolor brand. All updated livery will feature this vibrant and dynamic image. An additional hue of green on Aquabase Plus waterborne packaging highlights the product line’s environmentally-friendly credentials, including efficient application processes and substantial material savings. “We felt that it was time to give a fresh new look to our innovative refinish brand,” said Patricia Phountoucos, PPG communications and branding manager, automotive refinish, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “Painters will now be able to identify their favourite premium brand by this vibrant design, which will be printed on all Nexa Autocolor packaging over the coming months. “While our branding and packaging will look different, we haven’t made any changes to the proven technology of our products. So our customers can be confident they will experience the same premium quality and performance as always. And of course they can still count on further innovations from Nexa Autocolor [brand] in the future.”
